Mindfulness Tip Sheet

lightbulb art with quick tips and families first

Mindfulness is simply noticing, being aware, and experiencing the present moment for what it is.

When Can I Do It?

Mindfulness practices can be done throughout your day. You can practice them on your way to work, drinking coffee, or standing in line. Take mindfulness breaks when feeling stressed and add them to your daily routine.

How Can I Do It?

Focus on Breathing
Pay attention to your breath going in through your nose and out your mouth. If your attention wanders, simply acknowledge where your mind went and gently bring your attention back to the breath.

Focus on Senses
Notice what you can smell, touch, hear, see, and taste around you. Do not try to change these, simply bring your awareness to this moment.

Focus on Emotions
Ask yourself: “How does my body feel in this moment? How am I feeling emotionally in this moment?”
